How Do They Sound?

The Krk Rokit 5’s are a great speaker for any home recording set up. They don’t offer the bass response that a larger speaker would offer but thats to be expected, it’s just basic physics, the bigger the surface area, the longer sound waves we can create. It’s something to be aware of if your mixing. learning how they interact with your room is important. I’ve heard people say they lack bass, while others have said that the bass is fine. I personally don’t find that they lack bass but my room has bass traps in place and i have a tapered ceiling, which does a pretty good job at defusing frequencies and personally i would get the subwoofer krk offer, as your monitors as it will be hard to hear anything below 50 hertz.

They have a bass port on the front of the monitors which helps push the bass frequencies outwards giving you an accurate representation of your mix. You also have a high frequency level adjust, which is great if your room is creating more high frequencies than your mix has. You’ll think your mix sounds bright and crisp but when you listen to it in your car or another room it sounds flat and it doesn’t have that shimmer that you thought it had. So you can cut some frequencies to compensate for your room.
This will force you to add in more high frequencies. It will take a few listens to get right but once you have it adjusted you won’t have to adjust it again.

Frequency Response – 4.5/5

I agree with practically everything you’ve said here about the Rokit 5 studio speakers. I’ve been using these monitoring speakers for a long time now–they’re perfect and I don’t think there’s any other studio monitors out there that are as good as the Rokit 5 in its price range. I don’t know if people are aware of this, but the Rokit 5s are actually among the best selling studio monitors. And that makes total sense to me. The performance they can offer at such an affordable price is hard to beat. The Rokit 5 studio speakers are definitely perfect.
